This is simply to say that I am sorry.

I will not ask forgiveness for what I intend; depending on how things turn out, I either will not need or cannot expect it. I am as innocent as anyone can be, under my circumstances; I am as culpable as anyone can be, given my limitations.

I am hopeful, but I am realistic. And, for whatever it may be worth, I am sorry.
